In the interim, I will share a few things that I saw today at Whip Up. Have you checked them out? They are on my side bar. Sometimes they are just OK but others, like today and last week, they are just a wealth of interesting things to search and create.
Last week they did a whole 2 part thing on slippers. That kept me surfing for more than a few hours! Then a few more DAYS of creating - you will see later this month what I came up with. I have made one of the patterns for baby shoes out of recycled angora sweaters (you have to come to one of my shows for pictures!!) It is a great sewing pattern - very easy and ADORABLE shoes!
There is also a link to this pattern:
"A charitable pattern from Designedly, Kristi. Inspired by her mother’s experience with two Seeing Eye Dogs™, this sock pattern celebrates the independence and freedom assistive animals bring to their owners’ lives. 100% of the profits from the sale of this pattern will be donated to an organization furthering independence for the visually impaired." You know I always appreciate the little details and the thing that really made this pattern for me was this: If you follow the paw prints to the cuff, you will see "Guided by Love" beaded in braille. The pattern is only $5.50. You know I don't buy many patterns but the cause was such a good one, I couldn't help myself. I will post pics as soon as I finish them.
Even if you don't want the pattern, go check out her website, she is very interesting and also does some beautiful spinning. Enjoy!
